Reliable Communications Using Multi-layer Transmission
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we propose a MIMO approach for packet combining in hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) protocols using single-carrier multilayer transmission over block fading channels. Based on this model, the problem of the optimization of the linear superposition coefficients is briefly addressed.

Cognitive Radio as a technological breakthrough and enabler for concepts such as Opportunistic Spectrum Access and Dynamic Spectrum Access has so far received significant attention from the research community from a theoretical standpoint. In this work, we build upon the theoretical foundation and present an implementation of a Software Defined Radio/Cognitive Radio platform, with the feature u...
متن کاملSecure and Reliable Multi-Path Transmission Scheme on Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks
Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UASN) based on the advances in underwater data collection and observing systems may play an important role in oceanographic research. But many unique features of UASN pose challenge on development of reliable and secure data transport to overcome harsh aquatic communication conditions. In this paper, we use multi-path routing to address secure and reliable t...
متن کاملQoS-Optimized Adaptive Multi-layer (OQAM) architecture of wireless network for high quality digital video transmission
Quality of Service (QoS) optimization is an important design goal in wireless video transmission. The application (APP) layer 802.11e medium access control (MAC) layer, and physical (PHY) layer of the wireless protocol stack can be jointly designed for the exchange of information. This will optimize the performance of wireless network for real-time digital video transmission. This paper propose...
متن کاملUnswerving Multi-hop Routing with Cooperative Transmissions in Distributed Wireless Networks
In this paper, there is a study of medium access control (MAC) protocol design for distributed cooperative wireless networks. This shall focus on beneficial node cooperation by addressing two fundamental issues of cooperative communications, namely when to cooperate and whom to cooperate with, from a cross layer protocol design perspective. To increase network throughput, it is proposed to have...
متن کاملIndoor Non-directed Optical Wireless Communications - Optimization of the Lambertian Order
For an indoor non-directed line of sight optical wireless communication (NLOS-OWC) system we investigate the optimized Lambertian order (OLO) of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). We firstly derive an expression for the OLO from a conventional Lambertian LED model. Then, we analyze the indoor multi-cell NLOS-OWC channel characteristics including the optical power distribution and the multipath time ...
